Under a blood red sky
Written by Jesse Rómlárson
Once you walked through shattered streets
Waving banners stitched with hope
Your words lit fires in the frost
But now they flicker burnt out smoke
Under a blood red sky!
The echoes fade, the cries grow still
Dreams once sharp, now paper thin
Folded neatly on a windowsill
Underneath the weight of glass
Reflections show a man well fed
What happened to the hunger’s roar?
Now you dine while others bled!
Under a blood red sky!
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Under a blood red sky!
You are not so white
No war in a golden room!
Just whispers softer than regret
Where’s the fire, the ground you stood?
A promise lost, a path unmet
Under a blood-red sky!
Your name remains, but where’s the fire?
A hollow anthem trails behind
Buried deep in fading choirs
