Eventstellar explores dark themes in “Abolition”

Eventstellar’s Abolition marks the band’s third single, released on February 11, 2017, and showcases a deeper, more experimental side of their sound. Produced by John Scatter and Einar Einarsson, and mixed by Matt Dublin, Abolition stands apart with its dark, instrumental themes and electronic undertones. The single, recorded at The Warehouse Zone in Dublin, is an exploration of complex emotions, blending alternative, electronic, and instrumental genres.

The release includes three tracks: “Symphony of Darkness and Light,” a haunting instrumental dedicated to the band’s former bass player, John Scatter, capturing a world of contrasting forces. The Spanish-language tracks “Bruma Extraña” and “Veneno” delve into the themes of internal conflict and desire, with Bruma Extraña conjuring visions of a fog that symbolizes confusion and hopelessness, while Veneno speaks to the bitterness of unfulfilled promises and the longing for what can never be. Abolition presents a raw, atmospheric narrative, blending intricate soundscapes and emotionally charged lyrics that challenge the listener’s understanding of darkness and desire.
